What is in this directory?

641 rail service facilities operated by 405 companies across the US and Canada: railcar repair shops, tank car service facilities, wheel and truck shops, cleaning and coating facilities, mobile repair operations, and track, signal, welding and grinding contractors. Each listing shows where the facility is, what work it performs, and which AAR certifications it holds.

Where does the certification data come from?

Directly from the AAR's own public registries of M-1002 tank car facilities and M-1003 quality-assured facilities. 284 facilities here hold M-1002 and 641 hold M-1003. We never publish a certification from a shop's own marketing claim. A facility listed in the AAR registry is certified even if its printed expiration date has passed; renewals are sometimes delayed for reasons outside the facility's control.

Is this the same as Rebulk Rail Maintenance?

No. Rebulk Rail Maintenance is our software for running a repair shop — inspections, work orders, parts and railcar history. This directory is a public list of shops and contractors you can send work to. They are separate things.

How do I get quotes from several shops at once?

Tell us what the car needs and roughly where it is, and we will take it to the facilities in that area and come back with quotes. There is no charge for that.
